Southern Exumas

March first finds us under sail again. It is bittersweet to leave Farmers Cays. We were sorry to say goodbye to Steve and Cindy. The weather prediction gives us a few days to get to George Town before it turns ugly. In fact, if prediction are correct, we may have to stay there while we pass the time before Jim Fagan comes down. Winds that are coming are gonna make the 20-25 knot winds we just got over seem light. Still not like Hurricane Irene, though! LOL
We were waiting for the mail boat to arrive and deliver lumber for the deck of Prospect Point. Darrell was going to give Steve a hand getting it unloaded but the schedule is not very dependable. We are also sorry to miss Cindy’s birthday party! The lively conversations we have had over th last three nights will surely be missed – but to look forward to our next meeting.
Plenty of boat projects to work on while the weather is ugly. Also plenty of good hiding places in Elizabeth Harbor. The harbor also might be clearing out some boats since the regatta is about to end (NOT).
We made George Town just before sunset. We were delayed a little bit to reel in three Mahi-Mahi!! What a great dinner! Jim, we might have some left when you get here. The cruising regatta is still going strong and we listened to a half hour of announcements on the VHF radio this morning. Roxy got her romp on Honeymoon beach right at sunset last night. Hugs and kisses to all – wish you were here – having a blast!!
